There are 3 versions of GDP released a month apart – Advance, Preliminary, and Final. The Advance release is the earliest and thus tends to have the most impact. Therefore I will not be considering any trades until the Forex Market settles after this news alert.

4 x Smart Trader trades now in play...

Since going short (selling) Aud/Usd yesterday at 10040 and the Eur/Usd too at 13240 earlier today, I have since added two more positions as follows:- 

Gbp/Jpy long (bought) at 12870 

Eur/Chf long (bought) at 12688

EUR/USD trade triggers too!

I have also now gone short (sold) the Eur/Usd at 13240 which triggered earlier. That gives me two Smart Trader trades now currently play and both currently in profit.

AUD/USD sell trade triggered

Smart Trader indicated a sell on the Aud/Usd at 10040 which triggered late yesterday...

+202 pips banked today!

I have closed all 3 trades as they clearly struggle to make new highs:- 

Eur/Jpy closed at 10994 = +64 pips 

Gbp/Jpy closed at 12829 = +99 pips 

Eur/Chf closed at 12649 = +39 pips 

Total of +202 pips on the first day of 2011!
